Nucleus’ examines the quiet architectures that lie at the centre of life. Presented as a series of circular forms, the work draws on the visual language of microscopy, astronomy, and anatomy. Each image reveals a contained world; textured, layered, and suspended, inviting viewers to look closely at what is usually hidden from sight. The dark, uncluttered backgrounds position the forms like specimens or celestial bodies, floating in a void. This ambiguity between the microscopic and the cosmic underscores the recurring patterns that shape both the smallest cell and the largest universe. Through subtle variations in structure and tone, the images suggest individuality emerging from shared origins, echoing themes of inheritance, identity, and transformation. By distilling each form to its essential shape, ‘Nucleus’ becomes a meditation on beginnings. It asks what lies at our core: biologically, emotionally, and metaphorically; and how the unseen forces within us continue to expand, divide, and evolve.
